Until the 2018 Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championships!

Hurricane Katrina

September 9, 2005-Hyperflite would like to extend our most sincere thanks to those unsung heroes in the disc dog community who have helped us render aid to the unfortunate human and canine victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Ordinarily, with the Hyperflite Skyhoundz World Canine disc Championship just two weeks away, we would be busy with last minute preparations and logistics. However, with so many volunteers committing early to help out at the Worlds, we have been able to bring our resources to bear on the Katrina relief efforts.

Today, Hyperflite donated $8,000 worth of Hyperflite T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, bags and hats that will be distributed to Katrina victims. The clothing will be airlifted to storm-damaged areas by members of the Angel Flight AmericaVolunteer Pilot network. At Hyperflite’s expense, Hyperflite co-founder Jeff Perry, personally flew an Angel Flight Mission just days after the Hurricane, and delivered a huge load of infant formula, baby bottles, diapers, food and personal hygiene items to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Those items were in the hands of the hurricane victims in hours, rather than days.

Finally, Hyperflite donated 500 pounds of dog food to PAWS Atlanta, a no-kill adoption center that is presently housing a number of homeless canines transported to Atlanta from storm-ravaged areas.

Again, to the many kind souls who selflessly devote their time and resources, directly or indirectly, to the unfortunate victims of this and other disasters, we say, thank you and semper fido!
