Until the Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championship!

Hyperflite Skyhoundz Championship Last Chance Qualifiers and World Championships Registration, Schedule, & Information Page

Competitor Registration

Pre-registration is required to compete in all Skyhoundz Last Chance Qualifiers & World Championships.

We have simplified competitor registration for all Skyhoundz Last Chance Qualifiers and World Championships with just one (1) link where you can register (and make payment) for all Qualifiers for all of your dogs! Just click on the link above and follow the directions.

Also, once you have registered, you can check to confirm your registrations online here. Just type in your name and click on the search button and all your entries will be displayed. If there is anything that needs to be corrected, just contact us, and you should be good to go!

The entry fee, for all Last Chance Qualifiers, is $25 per team for all events (Pairs Distance/Accuracy & Pairs Freestyle $50). (There are no entry fees required for World Championship competitors.)

All Last Chance Qualifier competitor registrations will receive one T-Shirt and competition disc (Pairs Distance/Accuracy and Pairs Freestyle teams will receive two T-Shirts and two discs). Registrations are non-refundable and may not be assigned or transferred. Check-in will take place 45 minutes prior to the event's start time. Once we receive your pre-registration notification, you will see your information on our website here....

You may register your dog(s) in as many events as you like and/or compete with as many dogs as you like. However, if you have already Qualified for the Worlds in an event, you cannot compete in a LCQ with the same dog, in the same event, for practice.

Entries (for all LCQs and WCs) will be accepted up to 11:59 pm EST on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

Special Thanks To

Bentley's PETstuff & TailsSpin for their sponsorship of this year's DiscDogathon World Championship

Volunteers (Everyone who contributes their time and energy to make the Worlds great!)

Important Notes

If you arrive early to Chattanooga, please note that dogs are not usually permitted in Coolidge Park. We have special permission for dogs to be in the park for the World Championship (Friday-Sunday). So, please do not go there with your dog(s) until then.

As we did last year, the Awards Banquet on Saturday night will be in large tent behind the competition field at Coolidge Park. The tent will be available the entire weekend for you to hang out in, eat, rest, whatever.

For Skyhoundz Classic Competitors (LCQ/WC) in the Open, Youth, MicroDog Open, and Pairs Freestyle Divisions, if you would like to make handling of your music easier, please email your songs to Swanee Swainston here: music4skyhoundz@swainston.org

Due to a scheduling conflict, there will be an event at Coolidge Park on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 3 pm-7 pm which will negate our field set-up that morning. As such, we will need to be flexible as to when we will be able to access the field. Our plan is to arrive around 4 pm to unload and pre-position our materials, so that no later than 7 pm, we can begin field set up.

Competitors will be able to set their tents up only after Skyhoundz officials give the OK to do so. Tents set up without permission, or in areas not authorized for tents, will be moved or removed.

Please Note — Room availability is limited in Chattanooga because of a confluence of major events taking place during the same time frame. Accordingly, if you plan on staying anywhere near Chattanooga, book your room ASAP!

Last Chance Qualifier/World Championship Competitor Rule Reminders

Competition Apparel

On the day of competitions, competitors must wear the Hyperflite Skyhoundz Qualifier or World Championship T-shirts and apparel (cool weather permitting) provided, as is, without alteration at all times when on the playing field, warm-up areas or in competitor tents. We will be filming on the field as well as conducting off-field interviews during the Qualifiers and World Championships and we will only be able to use video and images featuring our logos. So please make sure that you wear your Hyperflite apparel. You may wear appropriate non-logoed (manufacturer's logo OK) athletic pants, shorts and shoes of your choosing. No props of any kind, including capes, vests or other adornments worn by canines, are permitted in competition. Non-sponsor branded bandannas will be permitted, subject to chief judge's approval.

Official Discs/Other Rules

Hyperflite is the official disc of the Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championships. As such, all discs used in Skyhoundz competitions must be genuine Hyperflite discs. See individual event rules for further disc specifics.

Sportsmanship

Although only one team can win a World Championship in the applicable Divisions, you are all winners in the eyes of your canines. So, when you're out on the field competing, don't forget to have fun with your best friend. Hyperflite will not tolerate displays of unsportsmanlike conduct at the various Hyperflite Skyhoundz Qualifiers and World Championships. We urge you to familiarize yourself with our rules regarding unsportsmanlike behavior and understand that we will have a zero tolerance policy for unseemly displays of poor sportsmanship at this family-friendly event. Treat the judges with respect and interact with them as you would want others to interact with you. Finally, please review the section on Sportsmanship in the Competition Section of Disc Dogs! The Complete Guide.

The Mickey Rule

The Hyperflite Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championship Series is family entertainment at its finest. Families with young children attend many Skyhoundz events as competitors and spectators. A Youth Division is now part of the Skyhoundz Series. Accordingly, any musical selection, choreography, or costumes chosen by a competitor, to be used in conjunction with a Skyhoundz Freestyle routine, should be free of offensive, suggestive, or inappropriate language or themes. If you wouldn't expect to see or hear it at Disney World, you shouldn't include it in your routine at a Skyhoundz event. Please note that this rule also applies to international competitors competing with music that is in a language other than that of the Skyhoundz host country.

Competitors are responsible for previewing their music to prevent any inappropriate or profane language (even the milder words) from being played. International competitors competing at the Skyhoundz World Championship, for whom English is not a first language, should have their English-language musical selection previewed by a trusted English-speaking individual to ensure adherence to the requirements of this rule. Please do not assume that song tracks not marked as explicit, if purchased from an online music source, will be acceptable. Listen to your selection carefully. When in doubt, leave it out!

Failure to adhere to the Mickey rule, in the sole discretion of Skyhoundz, will result in administrative actions up to and including immediate disqualification, suspension from future competitions, and/or vacation of any award or qualification slot earned at an event where the competitor's conduct violates the spirit of this rule.
